Charged time for labor spent on removing the ECU. The problem wasn't related to the ECU at all. So because of their lack of skill they get to charge for the useless things they do until they find the problem that a better mechanic could have found from the start
I wasn't sure about what was wrong with my VW Beetle when I brought it in. I had brought it to at least three other shops in Athens, who charged me for unrelated "fixes" (a.k.a. buying a new battery) or told me there was nothing wrong with the car. The staff at Car Craft had multiple opportunities to take advantage of me, but they were first to actually identify the real sources of the problems I'd seen, and were honest with me as to whether some repairs were worth the expense. If and when I bring another car to Athens, I'll bring it to Car Craft first.
I had banged up my radiator pretty bad on the underside and was leaking coolant. They said they had to bang some metal in order to put a new one in. Cool. New radiator from Autozone is around $200. I was charged over $900 for the new radiator and the time I have to take their word on that they used to bang out my car. STEEP
Picked our car up less than a hour ago, $1116.00 later!!! Originally all that was wrong was a busted hose and the part it was connected to!! Together totalling $35.00!! They were to check the car out completely n fix.. Oil change, alignment n 2 new tires later we get the bill and stranded !! Im pissed!!! WE ARE STRANDED, 5 OF US!! MY 79 YEAR OLD MOTHER WITH CANCER AND ITS MY SONS 7TH BIRTHDAY!! HERE WE SIT IN THE HEAT WITH MY MOM CRYING!!! Hope they enjoy there weekend!!! Not sure how they sleep at night!!;
I have used Steve at Car Craft for over 15 years and have always had a great experience. They always fully explain the problem and the solution and I've never had something that needed to be fixed twice. A while back I had a car that wouldn't start occasionally and it was very frustrating. Steve came to my work multiple times to check it.
