Grill was slow, but it was a great place to have dinner after Chasing Coral.
It's honestly not even Bolton anymore, because the quality shot way up. The pasta is legitimately good- you can't get anything like it at another dining hall because it's cooked to order. The convenience of it being right next to MLC also can't be understated- even if it means there are more crowds than there used to be. If you're a new student on meal plan- Bol'ton is about to become your new best friend. They even kept the old neon sign to remind you what you're missing.
It's dressed up quite a bit, but the building was constructed extremely poorly, with the person in charge of design and construction providing no oversight, making bad choices on purpose either to look fancy or for kickbacks, and letting cost overruns spill into the millions of dollars. Its design is the opposite of intuitive, and parts of it are already crumbling, so it won't stay pretty for long.
What's not to love about the new Bolton? There's a little section in the back with the old neon sign if you can't handle to change. Two levels with more selections than the last one, more seating, more natural light, more, more, more. The food? Even better than you remember. And it's in a very convenient location! Right next to Tate and the SLC... I mean Miller Learning Center.
As someone who's worked here, I can tell you that the food is the cheapest the university can possibly get, it's periodically expired, and the problems behind the scenes frequently spill over into serving the students.
Bolton's breakfast is the best thing they offer
Fake Imposter Bolton, aka Bol'ton is the newest dining hall on campus as of 2016, replacing the ancient, aptly named "Revoltin' Bolton" that used to be up the hill, where that gravel parking lot next to Creswell is. Old Bolton had its... charm, we'll say, but I don't think anyone can say in good conscience that New Bol'ton is worse. New Bol'ton is actually quite good, the pasta at least! The choices are basically the same as they were at old bolton- Pasta, Grill/burgers, breakfast bar, huge salad bar, etc, but they also added an Asian section and a bakery, along with the mainstay stuff.
