Great experience! I haven't eaten here in years, but I think I'll go back. The food was really good, and the service was great. Really friendly and courteous employees.
First time eating jere and the cape ease sandwich was delicious and they had no problem remaking my sandwich as well.
Highlight of our trips to Athens! Servers are always friendly & helpful. The food is always prepared just as we order, and since we always have to customize our sandwiches, that's a very big deal. And they're hot! Atmosphere is great. Good music, but not too loud and, almost as important as the taste, the restaurant is clean. The trash cans don't ever seen today fill up, there's never trash or crumbs on the floor, and the tables & chairs are wiped as soon as the guests are done. Too bad all eateries don't take the same care and pride in their facility or food as this Schlotzsky's.
Love the food, however as a business owner here in Athens how your employee's interact with your patrons is very important. Customer service is where it counts... especially in today's world,customer service falls to the wayside over the almighty dollar. The young man that delivered my food to the table was just rude. Did not speak when spoken too, even upon saying "thank you" as he brought my food he just walked away without speaking as he snatched my number stand off the table. I watched him as I ate and noticed that I was not the only person who received the lack luster attitude and blank stare, as though his job as a food runner is beneath him. Just not the usual positive experience I have at one of my favorite places to eat.
This place is good. However, I always end up with a black olive on my food. And I hate black olives. They make the food taste gross. I really like their beef bacon smoke cheesy sandwich. Pizza is okay. They used to have really good cheese cake but they stopped selling that( it was a big reason why I liked going there). Whenever I get the Cinnabon roll it's always dry in the outside like they are never fresh.
