UPDATE: I am switching back to a New Orleans dentist at home. The icing on the cake: a $29 transfer fee of my records. My family dentist told me that was ridiculous, but Dr. Powell's office claims it's some statute under Georgia law. Either way, I'll be saving a ton of money in the long run and receiving much better care by not going to this office.
As an out-of-state college student, Dr. Powell completely gave me the run around. He wouldn't accept my xrays from my former dentist and charged me hundreds of dollars to redo them in his office. He also insisted I get a retainer (had braces years ago..) that cost $200... My childhood orthodontist told me it was unnecessary and that he would have given me the retainer for free.
