Perhaps I'm biased, but Mags is one of my favorite bars in Athens. It's pretty large and nicer inside, caters to a more upperclassmen/just graduated crowd more than the crazy party crowd, so the vibe inside is usually chiller than the neighboring bars. It's a great place to play pool, and the drinks are reasonable, if a touch on the pricey side. If you become a regular and go often and meet the people working, you'll find that they have a really good, consistent staff- not a revolving door. I've always had a good experience there, and it's a great place to also just sit on the front porch and people watch, given its prime location on Broad St.
A bit pricey but usually consistent staff and drink quality. Also usually one of the shorter lines on weekend nights. Pretty good place to watch games, as they have large screens both downstairs and upstairs.
One of the nicer bars in Athens. Enjoy the pool tables. A lot cleaner and more upper class than some of the other bars more geared to a younger crowd.
