This was the worst experience I have had at a Holiday Inn.
Ordering dinner to be picked-up, and returning 45 minutes later, i was told the order was not yet started. It took 1 and a half hours to get my meal. At times the front desk person will be missing for extended lengths of time, doing another task. The tables at breakfast are cleared slowly, leaving one to stand waiting to sit, and further wait quite some time before getting a menu. Service was so disheveled, that at one point I personally walked behind the kitchen counter to turn off a coffee maker that was overflowing and spilling onto the floor.
Probably won’t come back. Meets minimal expectations for me. Bathroom needed a good cleaning. Ring in toilet and shower. Customer service was average with exception of a maintenance worker who went out of his way to assist me.
Again, i stress that the staff was extremely kind and polite, and hid their frustrations well. I imagine management is more responsible than anyone at the lower level, but nonetheless it shows.
The interior looks dated but clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice but if you stay there for more than 3 days, you'll feel that there's not enough variety of food and it would seem that the same ingredients are being shuffled in a different way. I could sleep well here as the bed was comfortable and room was quiet.
Since I decline, she told me to let her know if there was something she could do for my inconvenience. I was extremely tired and asked for an additional night at a discounted rate. They offered and I accepted. When I received my bill I could not see any discount really given. I asked that the bills be separated since this was a work trip. I later found that they only gave me a discount for the additional night which was not an issue.
Overall a pleasant stay that at times tested ability to control hunger-related impatience. Nothing extremely frustrating, but definitely not optimal.
Close to downtown restaurants and bars but quiet and clean. Nice restaurant, good food, great service. All in all a good place to stay, reasonably priced. I would stay here again !
Everyone is friendly enough, that's for sure, but the quality of service is poor. This may be a reflection of too few individuals on staff to deal with the quantity of customers, as well as tasks.
Last week, I had a horrible experience at the Holiday Inn in Athens, Ga. The house cleaning staff was misinformed of my checkout date, and cleaned my room as a checkout 2 days in advance. The staff who cleaned my room had items of mine on their carts and quickly returned them when I inquired. The hotel offered me a $50 food voucher which I declined and later offer a percentage discount which I accepted. At the time, I didn't have time to inventory my room because I was there for a conference. When I returned at 9:30 p.m. that night, I inventoried the room to find that they must have realized at some point my items were in the room, but had not returned anything. I was missing my curling iron a mug that was in my room. I quickly called the desk to check to see if my items were in the lost and found. The gentle on the phone quickly stated that I had received a percentage off my stay, and the housekeeping would return in the morning after my conference began. This did not work for me so I had to leave the hotel at 10 p.m. to find retrieve the items remove. I to my room and made a formal complaint about the insensitive customer service I had receive and a to explain the events of my day. I checked in with the front desk in the morning to see if my items were in lost and found the representative brought back a curling wand, but did not ask me to describe the missing items. I had to leave, so I later called to check to see if my items had been found and they had. I returned that evening to pick up my items and speak with a manager. She seemed to be concerned, but gave me a look like what was I complaining for. She told me they would use my complaints and offered me snacks, which I decline. I felt her focus was more on the items they took from the fridge rather than my experience with her and her staff as a whole.
The common areas of the hotel, such as the business center and fitness room are all very nice, and will not disappoint. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and provided a quiet environment for a restful night. When it comes to food and service, this hotel lags far behind the brand.
A hotel that meets the standards of Holiday inn when it comes to cleanliness and amenities, but suffers in customer service.
I normally don't rant, but this experience warrants it.
