OK, but not really a "Courtyard."

In a world where customer service is all but gone, I was really impressed with the fold at Marriott in Athens. Every person who spoke to us seemed genuinely helpful and pleasant, from the lovely girl that checked us in - I think, Miranda? - to even some construction workers doing some updates - seriously, even they were nice! The hotel is a little older, but clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was updated and check-out time is noon which is a plus in a party town like Athens. Parking is also free and the hotel is .3 miles from all the downtown fun, so just park and walk and have a great time!

The whole thing kind of felt like I'd checked into a dorm at the nearby university. I won't be returning to this Courtyard.

I checked in on a Saturday as an on-the-way stopover on a longer trip. Parking was tight and people were driving around looking for someone to leave so they could have a space... not a good sign. It was about 5:15PM at the end of a long driving day, so I wasn't too happy to hear that my room wasn't ready quite yet. The room turned out to be on the second floor (which is good), but to get to it, we had to drag our stuff through three halls to an inclined path that took us up to the second floor... quite odd and a bit inconvenient. When we finally got down to sleep, that didn't happen so well, as a bunch of neighborhood kids were doing something that required a lot of yelling until about 11 PM.

Some of the friendliest staff I have ever experienced at a hotel. Everyone speaks when they see you and are very pleasant. I am in town for business and expect that I will be back. If and when I do come back I will be staying here. Great location and close to downtown. Lots of bars and food within walking distance. Clean rooms and very well taken care of property. Lots of parking.

As far as the service awesome. We are here weekly due to work. Yes we can stay anywhere and have thought of trying the Indigo and may still try just to see the difference, but really like the people here. As far as the food some things are good, some are just frozen, sysco stuff. I have been in the food and beverage industry for 30 Years. The food could be way better with a bit of effort. Putting up room cards and room service for the food would help the food part of the Bistro, but as well they would have to design a better more palatable food concept. I know some things have to come frozen but a better concept and more in room knowledge for the guest would be a great plus. Their Happy Hour is great but when they are out of the product that is on their menu is not good. After their redecorating in January maybe they will incorporate some better food planning and menu. As I said love the service we get here. Everyone is friendly and ready to help

I've stayed at a lot of Courtyards and I like them, as they're tuned to business travel. No worries about parking, your room's always ready if you get there after 2, simple three-story layout with an elevator just around from registration.

Never seen a Marriott like this one. It almost looks like it used to be an apartment building. Room was clean. I did notice the walls were a little thinner than what I'm used to. I could definitely hear the last next door coughing all night. Thanks was probably my only issue. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay.
