I didn't come down in the last shower so our dog was removed from UGA yesterday noon, arrived at the University of Florida yesterday evening and was immediately on dialysis this morning. He is expected to make a full recovery. Thanks for nothing, UGA.
The people who are writing five star views based on the looks of the building and the location are idiots. Period. Reviews are supposed to be based on services rendered. That said, UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital may or may not have a mend or cure for your dog depending on the size of your bank account. If you have a big one they will fix you right up. If you have a not-so-big one they will recommend euthanasia and refuse to treat the animal...EVEN IF HE OR SHE IS OTHERWISE HEALTHY. Ms. Karen Park ( I refuse to refer to her as "Dr" because her behavior was absolutely unethical and shameful and not at all in line with the oath she took upon becoming a veterinarian). She completely recommended treating a 9 month old completely healthy female Boxer puppy with a broken jaw and a possible until she found out the owners couldn't afford the $10,000 she quoted and then she recommended euthanasia. This story is to be continued because you're going to be hearing more about this.
i have never been there but i shave heard lots of great comments that make me think cause i do want to be a vet
How many pets did they put to sleep after their owners ran out of money wasted on excess IV fluids waiting till their beloved animals were 'candidates' for this imaginary dialysis? It is bad enough to lose a beloved friend, to lose one because you were scammed of the money and robbed of the time to save them is beyond despicable.
300% more expensive than most vets in Georgia despite the fact that they are inexperienced students.
My ferret died because of a lack of knowledge from oncology and doctor . They gave my ferret radiation treatment which made him really sick and he was in severe pain . After one day of radiation he wouldn't eat and drink . The doctor told me that he was nauseated. When I ask the doctor if it comes from the radiation, she told me no. Which is a big lie .This happened on a weekend and I took my ferret back to uga on a Sunday because he was in severe pain and wouldn't eat nor drink. Upon admitting him they promised that he would get some pain meds throughout the night The following day I spoke to the exotic doctor which treated my ferret and I found that Lenny ,my ferret was not given anything for pain throughout the night I trusted these people with my ferret . They are liars and should b a shamed of themselves
Brought our dog here for emergency dialysis after food poisoning as it was the only dog dialysis machine in Atlanta or Georgia and they strung us along for days just leaving him on IV fluids and claiming dialysis wasn't needed - but they would consider it 'down the road but we aren't there yet' despite our vet saying it was his best chance of a cure and his blood work not making enough progress it was excuse after excuse while they ran up the bill. $1700 dollars later I find out their dialysis machine which is still advertised on their website had been quietly retired some time ago and they didn't even have one that worked! At what point, exactly, were they going to mention this? As he was being stretchered out the door on his way to the University of Florida for emergency dialysis they were still claiming he didn't need it!
