What was the point of the reservation, then, and furthermore, what is the point of the "Ryder Guarantee" display on the front desk saying that my reservation and my class of vehicle would be available?
The rep then told me I had the option of either renting a 16' truck at the same rate (even though it would use twice as much gas!) or I could drive 50 miles in the opposite direction of my destination to rent a van there.
Wonderful experience. Everyone was extremely helpful. I recommend to anyone in the Athens area.
On the day of my reservation, I drove 20 minutes and waited for another 10 only to observe the rep give away the van I reserved for that day to a business client who had priority.
I requested a van from Ryder of Athens and confirmed my reservation the day before pick-up.
Seriously. Is this how to run a business?
