Nice looking Place good drinks but the food service was not so great. My sandwich was good and what I asked for but my wife's was wrong. Took us 40 minutes to get the sandwiches in the first place and with my wife's being wrong they did say it probably take about as long for them to fix it. Would get a drink there again but not food.
Very cute! Great game and drink selection. Amazing coffee. Not great when there is a kids party going on but great for parents who want to drink while their kids play board games. Good for groups.
They also have a fine selection of drinks and food, though we didn't eat while there. Walking distance from most other sights of downtown.
Also, the Red Door Comedy Show on Sundays is always a treat.
As to the games, woah. Everything you could THINK of and more! You could not think you're into board games at all but still find something fun here. Party games for groups, two player games for couples, and even games for the kids! I've known nannies to take their charges here on a lazy afternoon for games and some cookies and milk.
We had so much fun at Rook and Pawn! Hundreds of games - every one you could ever want to play. Great food / beer / staff amazing
Overall: one of the singular best places to be in all of Athens, maybe even all of Georgia.
There is no way to properly review the perfection that is Rook & Pawn but I'll try. It's cozier than anywhere else in town, the drinks are fantastic, and it HAS an actual PARKING LOT. A great place for events, parties, or just a meet up for drinks and games.
Excellent little table top gaming bar and cafe. $5 entry gains you access to their absolutely gigantic selection of board and card games. If you've an afternoon or evening to kill with friends in downtown Athens, this is fantastic option.
